Volunteering

We are always looking for coaches, poolside and non-poolside helpers and committee members so if anyone wishes to volunteer please don’t be shy.

Contact the Club Secretary or speak to one of the other club officers or coaches.

If you’d like to volunteer with us, download and complete our volunteer expression form.

Liverpool Swimming Club is run by volunteers and we would really like to encourage as many parents to get involved as possible; firstly to help share the workload and secondly to become part of a fantastic friendly team.

You can volunteer regardless of how much you know about swimming. Why not learn new skills and help make a difference, be part of events, meet new friends and most importantly have fun! There are many ways in which you can Volunteer for Liverpool Swimming Club:

Volunteer Team

One of the easiest ways to volunteer, without having to join a Committee or enrol in training, is to join our Volunteer Team. This is a group of parents who help on an adhoc basis ranging from, poolside help to fundraising or Time Keeping at Club Champs. Every little but of help is vital to our club. If this sounds like it might be for you, then please do let one of the Committee know or contact our Volunteers Co-ordinator Ben Harvey.  There is no commitment other than making yourself known and letting us know if you are available when called upon.

Coaching Role

Do you enjoy engaging with young people, and seeing them reach their full potential; if the answer is yes, the Club is always on the lookout for new Swimming Coaches. We will organise and pay for training in return for committed club time and can help book you onto an SE Coaching course – if you have an interest in coaching, then please speak to Ben Harvey, our Volunteer Co-ordinator.

Swimming Official
Swimming Galas can only operate if there are enough poolside officials, and every time LPSC enters a gala it has to provide a number of Swimming Officials in order for our swimmers to be able to compete. These officials give up their time to ensure that Swim Meets are run safely and fairly for all and that the FINA rules and regulations are adhered to by all swimmers at all times, in relation to starts, strokes, turns and timing.

Why get involved and volunteer as a Swimming Official?
* Get an insight into how a swim meet runs and learn new skills
* It gives you something to do whilst your child is not swimming and helps avoid paying the spectator entry fees
* Complementary refreshments and sometimes even a free lunch!

Committee Member
Liverpool Penguin Swimming Club Committee is made up of parents/carers who care about how the Club moves forward for all our members. If you would like to have a say and get involved, then please contact Ben Harvey; we need your help.

The future of sports like swimming relies heavily on the skills, knowledge and commitment of its volunteers.

When you become a Swimming Volunteer you will make a crucial difference to both the Swimming Club. It really is very rewarding to give up your time for the benefit of the children, club and sport and will leaving you feeling great.
